Local heritage book of StojentinThe parish of Stojentin in the district of Stolp included the villages of Dargeröse, Gesorke, Gohren, Groß Podel, Neitzkow, Prebendow, Rexin, Schierwens, Stojentin and Wollin. The present OFB is an evaluation of the oldest church book and covers the period from 1644 to 1759. The original church book is available online at https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1199359?availability=Family%20History%20Library. The original is partially illegible and not always informative. The compilation of families is an attempt at reconstruction, but is incomplete and heavily influenced by the sometimes very sparse and uninformative information that was found in the original church book. In particular, the burials very often lack usable information about the names of deceased persons. The older baptisms miss the names of the parents, so that in many cases an assignment could only be derived from the occupational titles of the father. The Pomeranian Hufenklassifikation (https://www.pommerscher-greif.de/hufen/) made it possible in some cases to determine the first name of the father of a baptized person. Another complicating factor was that in many cases wives were listed under their maiden name and therefore could not always be reliably assigned to a family. Noble families were completed in part from secondary sources. Some information could be completed from the church records of neighboring parishes, especially from Glowitz and Groß Garde. |
