Local heritage book of Wabern

Note:

The "Online Local Family Register" Wabern will be supplemented and continued from January 2017 by Dr. Helmut Hennighausen [helmut(at)hennighausen.org] from Wabern (Hesse).

The current status of data collection in July 2024:

Marriages up to and including August 1957

Baptism register up to and including 1945

Death register up to and including 1945

For data protection reasons, however, only information on people whose date of death is recorded can be viewed in full. In addition, further data can be requested from Dr. Hennighausen (see above).

What period does the local family register cover?

The Protestant church registers of Wabern were first created in 1644 by Pastor Johannes Kuhn/Kühn and - apart from minor gaps (change of pastor) - are continued to this day.

One exception is the partial continued transfer of my ancestors, which I also recorded with this program for practical reasons. The occasional notes for marriages and deaths in the "Remarks" column were also transferred. In these cases, "marginal note" was entered as the source reference.

In principle, all godparents were also transferred, since due to the frequent similarity of names in earlier times, this was often the only way to reliably assign a family to a family. They are shown in the personal sheets and family forms.

The regular recording of confirmations, on the other hand, is limited to the first three church registers, since the later church register entries were adequately recorded.
